Best tuner for MPG?

OK, his customer service is good, but that's not the point.
First, if this thing is a plug-in module, any good electronics tech or engineer is going to be able to monitor the input(s) and output(s) to see what it does, compared to those same points without the module. It doesn't matter whether it is digital data, analog voltages, or whatever. This sort of thing is done all the time. In other words, there is no way he is going to be able to keep it a secret from his competitors, period.
So why in the world not tell your customers? I can think of two possible reasons.
1. Marketing. Mysteries sell. People love to think they are getting some sort of secret deal. Marvel Mystery Oil wouldn't have half the sales it does if it were simply called something like Joe's Upper Cylinder Lubricant.
2. It doesn't do anything worthwhile that you can't get elsewhere, possibly for less coin. Notice the posters wondering if it is the functional equivalent of the Rokktech Sensor.
Beyond that, if I am going to put something on my truck that modifies engine parameters, I want to know what it does, so that I can make an informed judgement on the potential benefits versus the potential costs, both short term (what it costs to purchase and install) and long term (what costs might arise because of my using it, including potential warranty issues). Telling me it doesn't raise the rail pressure isn't good enough.
So I won't buy one, as it now stands. I hope those that do get only good results and are happy with the product, but I will look elsewhere, thank you.

You are correct that it will not take long to figure out, but the new model has not been released yet. If it is something new, you at least want to have your product out there so the competition has to play catch up. How many different parameters can be changed ? My guess is that it will adjust timing, duration, and pressure - oh, and it might be adjustable by downloading different programs.
You have made my point. I am not going to buy anything that requires me to guess what engine parameters are being played with. If the manufacturer won't tell me -- and the tone of Quad's post indicates he has no intention of doing so -- I won't buy it.

It's fair to say that the ROKKTECH sensor, or Tone Ring mod are unsophisticated compared to the MMM. (In fact, the MMM can, according to Qzilla, be used with them). But there is the problem of guessing that I do not find acceptable. Others may be willing, but as I see it I don't need to spend $200 to save fuel where the [lazy] driver is assumed to be an integral part of the tuning.
From "engine on" to "engine off" there are but few seconds where I can see a potential benefit . . and that is only if I am doing a poor job of driving in the first place. If, then . . if, then . . if, then. The window is too small and is not a regular feature.
As with TreeFarm ". . So I won't buy one, as it now stands. I hope those that do get only good results and are happy with the product, but I will look elsewhere, thank you."
I would put the money towards better handling and steering response (poly anti-roll bar bushings both FF/RR, and eliminating the on-center dead spot in the shaft & box) as it is easy, adds predictability, and reduces driver input in remaining lane-centered under all conditions. (I wish you did, but you don't . . same with signaling).
An alert, rested driver will make better fuel economy decisions over a longer period of time versus a driver making more steering, throttle and brake inputs per mile traveled.
Attend the basics. Fuel economy, for your truck, is all in the margins.
Besides, as FORD engineers gave journalists a goal of 26.5-mpg in testing the new 700 LB/FT torque V8 of theirs (and that was exceeded; in a city/highway metro Phoenix loop), it needs to be MUCH more fun to rag on the furd guys that a used, high-mileage $17,000 CTD does as well as their $70,000 unproven Chihuahuas (where it's built).
Aye, chihuahua, ole . . . !
(We need a photoshop magician to replace the 2011 FORD factory fender callout with a bug-eyed drop-kick dog: Chihuahua V8 Power).
