best shift improving option

im wondering if a tuner or a shift kit or a valve body is the best way to make my truck shift firmer. i dont have alot of money to spare.

Bobby....fill out your truck signature so we know what you have....that'll help us to help you....under user CP -> Signature....

Most people say spend alot, get fully built billet trans and never worry about it again....that works if you have the $'s.....that being said, a good vb will definately help....not sure if it works as well by itself....someone more knowledgable will chime in....

Look at the trans threads, you'l get lots of opinions.....stick with one of the big boys HTS, Suncoast, ATS, DTT, Goerend,...i'm not sure if any is better at stand alone (e.g. w/o matched tc,...)

I LOVE my Goerend VB and TC- it really firmed up my shifts and gave it a good feel. If you aren't hot rodding your truck, you probably could save some money going without billet shafts and flexplate.
