Smarty JR...hand down. If you're the type that likes to tinker, the Smarty SR's adjustability/tuneability might be more to your liking, but IMO it's not worth the extra $200 unless you're serious about big horsepower and the supporting mods that go with it.

I just received my Smarty J today from Lary. Thanks Lary but where's the rest of the order? I took heed of the same advise everyone is offering here. You may also need a guage pack or an electronic monitor. I went with the Quad Monitor, EGT probe and A pillar mount.

No offense, but I am originally from Billings and I wouldn't let them near my rig....I have seen 2 trucks they have worked on and was not impressed to say the least! I have run almost every programmer and chip combo, Smarty offers the best package hands down! I sold mine to try something new....but do not think i will ever find another solution that offers the gains like the Smarty Sr.

We drop ship orders, meaning that they are shipped from different manufactures, straight from the factories. They may arrive on different days.

Just one more vote for Smarty here. I have the Jr and it sure wakes up the truck! Only down side is I will need to replace the clutch a little sooner When the extra 100 hp kicks in the clutch gets a little angry

man i really need to check my spelling.

. hey i cant argue there i would never let them touch my truck either. i just like there events cause its really the only diesel event local near powell. they dont tell customers what there getting into when they run a ppe x2. its to hard on a stock tubo and tranny and so on but people tearing up there truck brings them buisness..

also a truck i seen from there i seen a truck with to much exposed wires under the hood. it was a sloppy job.

Yep! Thats them....They added a custom "chip" to a friends ride, installed a converter (non-billet) and added gauges. Long story short...they installed the pillar by using deck screws to attact the pillar to his A-frame. Left exposed wiring and stripped out his rear cooler line fitting on the trans. He tows heavy and told them his intentions, and they added a chip that nearly crippled his ability to tow due to EGT's. When I go home this summer I will be fixing all their mistakes by installing new gauges, Smarty and goerend trans.

Back on subject:

Smarty Jr for towing and milage
Smarty Sr for adjustability POWER and growth
Smarty Sr + PMCR49 for flex plate shattering ear to ear performance!

Smarty S-06 POD

I'm using a Smarty S-06 POD and really like the versatility. I tow heavy and was able to set up my truck with a good fuel mapping. It took awhile as it seemed there were too many options. My Smarty diary tells a myriad of stories.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Smarty in any version. The great aspect is you remap the ECM and the overhead MPG display is fairly accurate. The S-06 POD will let you change tire size. I don't know about the Smarty Jr but I suspect that it does as tire size is a single parameter change.
