The mega has the resonator right before the tip as well, so of course it sounds best. : )

That's the same tip that I bought. It's a silverline isn't it? I wish it didn't have that small "silverline" print on it - but it's either covered with dirt or all sooty anyway, lol. I paid 56 for mine, shipped to my door. It's a nice tip, I like rolled edges but I think i'm just going to go to a regular slash cut. I've been using rolled edge tips since way back in my gasser days. They look good on diesels but after two days the whole point of having a rolled edge is lost from the soot covering it up.

I disagree. I put mine on my straight piped truck and it made a difference. I never thought it would, but it did. I can't fully explain it but it seems to change the trajectory of the sound and allows for a pre-echo as it comes out the end of the pipe. I have the factory 4" system and I'm gone to a tip that's 5". Seems that extra diameter, even for just a few extra inches beyond the end of the stock tailpipe, changes the tone before the sound is released out the end of the tip. I wouldn't have believed it until I installed it on my muffler deleted truck. Just my $.02.

Something a little different. Black chrome over SS on my 'still' stock exhaust system.

It's from Flo-Pro. http://www.flopro.com/tips.htm
A buddy picked it up for me at a shop in Austin. If you're interested I can get the name and number for the shop.

That's kind of stupid they would say that. It doesn't matter what size the truck is it's the same doggone engine.

Also I agree that a tip can change the sound. I don't remember how my silverline tip changed the sound vs tipless, but I do remember that I noticed a difference. I like the 4x6x24 tip on hog's website.

I agree 100% w/03qclb5spd. Disregard that comment from Genos. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with a 6 incher!!!! I got mine from Genos, btw. Part of me wishes I'd have gone with a turndown stack type tip instead.........
