On a 800 mile trip with winter fuel a couple of weeks ago with my XZT I averaged 24mpg, ive only had it in since last Dec, so im kind of interested in what my mileage will be with good fuel this summer, around town if i drive with overdrive locked out i get around 15 to 16, which is up 1 to 2 mpg in town from last winter, the only other mod ive done is my air intake is AFE. im very happy so far with the XZT and thats my .25c worth

I don't have a heavy foot, at least on the long trips I installed it for. When I first had it installed, I was making 500 mile trips between the Texas panhandle and northern Colorado, or 750 mile trips from the Abilene area and northern Colorado. The majority of that data was gathered while on cruise control between 65 and 75 mph. The only stops were for gas or to let me and the dog do God's business at a rest area.

When I first had it installed, I drove with an even lighter foot, to eek out the most MPG I could from the module. I was surprised to see the OH display show 24 MPG. I was excited until I did the manual calculation and saw that it was actually 11.6 MPG for the trip returning to Amarillo from Denver. I average around 17 MPG on that same trip without the module installed.

This week, I've pulled the module out of the glove box and reseated all the connections. It's a 70 mile drive to my current work-site in NE Colorado. 40 miles paved roads at 65 mph and 30 unpaved at 45 mph. I've put 217 miles on this tank, and I'm below the 1/2 mark now, so I'm still seeing a significant decrease in MPG with the XZT.

So, in my application, the module doesn't improve MPG. The seat-of-my-pants-meter, that someone else had mentiond in another thread, doesn't even register the added 60 hp that this module is supposed to provide with a heavy foot. It takes the same ammount of time to reach the my marker fence post from the stop-sign that it takes without the module.

You have something bad wrong then. Not just on the mileage side but, on the seat of the pants side as well.

I am not sure as to what the issue might be and we have had no major changes in software for the 03-04 250 or 205hp trucks? I would be happy to update it to make certain but, I am pretty certain you got a bad problem.

Could be a relief valve or something else who knows but, not only is that un-common that is the first I have ever heard of no power and a huge loss in fuel economy. I have had guys that say they just don't get a mileage gain or they drive too hard or something of that nature but, it tends to be a break even or about the worst I have ever heard was a 2mpg drop and he said he just liked the way it felt?

Whatever happens you need to get that thing fixed. Heck I can go 350-375 miles on a half tank of fuel.

I am on my second tank with my XZT. First tank showed little mpg improvement but I enjoyed the new found power in my 100K+ ole' truck. This tank I am a little less heavy footed and am at just over half tank seeing a 50 mile increase as to what I used to get.

Yet, I am a part of the few getting good mpg to start with because I averaged, hand calculated, 19.55 mpg before the XZT. I drive 90% highway at 65-75mph and it is 30+ miles into the office.

I always figured there might be, but the truck has performed flawlessly and fairly consistantly for the last 70k miles.[laugh]

I'll PM you for help.

the fact that it ran perfect STOCK for 70K miles means nothing. some parts are marginal(especially sensors) and stock work just fine, but as soon as you expect more from them, you will NOTICE the problems that have never been unmasked.

An imporvement of 6 miles per gallon would be sweet, Maybe thats just wishful thinking

I can get 21 miles to the gallon on the highway at 65-70 mph. I have the exhaust and air filter and no gain on either of these mods. I believe that it is wishful thinking for 6 mpg increase.
