I have line-x over the rails and love it. A lot cheaper and easier than having bed caps installed. I'd never go back.

 

I had caps on my last truck and I thought about taking them off before I sold it. I removed one cap and quickly replaced it after looking at the paint. If I wanted caps I would put the liner under them. I went over the rail with this truck and I am very happy.
