To Beat an Old Horse to Death!
To Beat an Old Horse to Death!
I know this has been beaten to death but my question is this....What is the major difference in a wheel with -24mm offset and -12mm offset? I have narrowed my wheel search to 2 different styles. One is the 18x9 Moto Metal 951 which is -12mm offset and 4.50 backspacing. The other is the 18x10 Eagle 064 which is -24mm offset and 4.50 backspacing. I will either be running 325/60/18 or 325/65/18 tires. I will also be installing a 2" leveling kit. Any thoughts are more than welcome.
The difference is about a 1/2 inch. Use the link below to convert from mm to in.

the other is 10 inches wide with 4.5" backspace,
the 10 inch wide one will stick out 1 inch more than the 9 inch wide one.

A good rule of thumb:
Any aftermarket wheel the same width as the OEM will stick out at least 1 inch further.
(due to OEM backspace being around 6" and aftermarket being 4.5")
Once you start going wider than OEM, it will stick out that much further.
I.E. OEM is 8 inches wide, aftermarket is 9 inches wide, add that to the 1" more backspace, it will stick out 1.5 inches further.
Put a tire on that has a wider tread print than OEM, and it will stick out that much further.
Figure about 2 inches further than stock for the wheels/tires you are considering.
