Battery disconnect when installing gauges?
Will be installing a set of gauges in the cubby hole. The service manual says to disconnect the battries before pulling the dash center? Seems something about the possibility of setting off the airbag? Other than I will lose all my radio settings, any problem with doing this, just to be safe?

i've never disconnect my batteries for any work i have done on my truck yet...
but if you don't feel comfortable working on it with batteries connected, just disconnect them and worry about the radio settings later...

I've never once pulled the battery cables for anything I've ever done to my truck. Sound system, 3 sets of gauges, 3 sets of lights, trailer plug, or fuel pumps. I've never once had a problem.
