Banks?

I know they might not be the most powerful out there...but how is the dependability of a Six Gun. They are now a DTR sponser and was thinkin of giving them a try.

I've installed 2 six gun tuners, both w/the speedloader & both with gauge packages, one was on an 03' 5 spd. & it has just boost & a pyro, so far so good with it, has been working really well, the other was on an 04' 6spd. & it has boost/pyro/tranny temp gauges, came out of an auto truck, but with a little fabbing on the tranny pan we got the tranny temp gauge hooked up to the 6spd., it also has worked well, the only problems from either setup was that being used they needed the plug in's greased on them, the 04' started acting up & not working all the time, but after greasing up all the electrical connections it's been fine since, both owners are very pleased with the kits & I may add that both trucks were running Edge EZ boxes before the six gun kits & neither have looked back, they are by far not the most powerful boxes out there, but it seems like they make nice, safe, reliable power!! hope this helps

Except for the high price and lack of power.

My brother-in-law got a good deal on a used 6gun and high ram for his '05. He had some trouble with it after a couple months and figured out the harness was bad. Banks replaced it - for $75! They like their money over there at Banks. He also has had it set a crank sensor code a couple times. But for the most part he likes it. It has better low end than the Juice, but not as much on top. I would say it would be an ok buy if you found a good deal on used. If you are buying new, you can do better for less.

Here's what I've learned about Banks over the last several years.
I have their six gun with speedloader, I've been very happy with it. My friend has the same truck with the six gun and PDA, I didn't want the PDA sticking out of my dash. The systems have been great, as well as the old systems we had in our last trucks. If you get one I'd get the PDA, when the converter slips, and it will if it's stock, I have to go through a reset and relearn routine for about 45 minutes total before I have any additional power back, with the PDA it takes 5 to 10 minutes and is ALOT easier. This slip detecting feature is the only thing I dislike about the six gun, and I really dislike it.
The other thing I've found is if you buy a Banks system buy it from Banks. The do treat you different if you buy from a dealer, and it sucks. If you buy from them they are great about fixing any issues, upgrading, tech questions, whatever. If you bought from a dealer they basically blow you off or charge you $$! When you call them about the six gun the first question is "did you buy it from us?" well, as far as I'm concerned they made it so technically I did! There shouldn't be any change in service because I bought from an authorized dealer, If i got it from some guy on Ebay used I can understand that, but not from a dealer.

"I may add that both trucks were running Edge EZ boxes before the six gun kits & neither have looked back" They should like the Banks more because the EZ is only a 65 hp chip compared to 120 hp of the Banks.
