Back to basics

OK, you can see from my sig that I'm basically stock but I want the capability to hammer down without wondering if I'm going to twist something in the 48RE or will be lacking in the power dept. So, the question is do I start with a basically stock set-up, do I opt for the the tranny (Goerend) or do I start with a Garrett and Injectors? The stock tranny is shifting great, no shudder or slipping and I have no issues on the power producing side either. Limited budget but where is the start point? This is a daily driver, no towing, no sledding, but leaning towards a lead foot!

Any and all input welcome and appreciated

Since its a daily driver and you seem fairly happy with the power just open up the intake and exhaust a bit to start, then maybe a smarty J, if you keep the power under maybe 80 or 90 extra HP the trany should last for a while, I myself added a tow box 65 HP and 165 TC when my truck was 1 month old, and Im still good at 100k if you want to bomb the crap out of her start with the trany.

Put money away for the tranny or just get it done first. It's cheaper to mod the tranny, then play. I replaced no clutchs or anything in mine, just installed parts in signature. I could slip my TC towing with only 35 extra hp. That was at 55-60mph. After that, I upgraded the tranny not long afterwards.

I agree. If you plan on playing at all with power, you should upgrade the tranny first and then have fun!
