Auxiliary Driveshafts
Just remembered I never posted any photos of the ladder bars I made:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t-d_Large_.JPG This shows detail of the rear mounts for these 84" x 2.375" monsters... What was I thinking? [laugh] They sure control the wheelhop! :D |
Here's detail of the front half:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...rs2_Large_.JPG They're fully adjustable, so I keep them preloaded against the rear axle. |
DUDE that is just AWESOME all this stuff you are posting!
What do you do for a living? I mean when did you have time to dream this up then fab it? |
Thanks!
I enjoy repairing, modifying, designing and fabricating machinery/equipment - and vehicles have always been my favorite! [roll] |
Where did you get your joints? I wish the ones on my desk had the "spacer" built in.
I am very interested. |
I used Cat II (1/1-8") heims.
|
Have you thought about using Johnny Joints? They are fully rebuildable and seem to take more abuse than heims. Just my opinion. What you have does look good though don't get me wrong.
|
where did you get them...I can only get up to 3/4" out of McMaster Carr.
What is the difference between heim and jj's? Where can I get jj's? Thanks in advance |
"Johnny Joints"?!
Mom used to wash our mouths out with soap for sayin' stuff like that... [tapdshut] |

... these monster heims can withstand anything short of a nuclear detonation. (Please don't ask how I know - the Black Helicopters are listening) |
