Attitude problem???
Every now and then, and more so since the weather has turned so blasted hot, the EGT readout on my attitude monitor reads 2,3, sometimes 400 degrees higher than normal. I know it's not displaying actual EGT's because I've had it on for a while and know the EGT's under various conditions. Is this a problem with the monitor or the manifold pyrometer?? I've checked everything under the hood and it seems OK. Could the tip of the pyro be getting carboned up??? Should I call Edge??? This does not happen all the time, it seems to be intermittent. An example would be, I drive to one of my accounts to work for the day; pull into the drive and basically idle or low speed drive to the areas where I usually work. I back my trailer into position and go to let it idle to cool down a bit and the EGT readout will be over 800 degrees. And I know this is not the correct EGT because I'm **** about my truck and its gauges etc. Like I said, this does not happen all the time. Any ideas what could be causing this???
Mine just started doing it too, just once in awhile. It always seems to be somewhat accurate when running, but "sticks" somewhere around 600-800* when I stop. I haven't done anything yet, I may call Edge when I get back from vacation ...
No problems on my Juice/Attitude set up. Been towing in our 105+ degree weather here in Arizona and my EGT read out seems to be accurate, averaging between 700 and 1000* when at cruising speeds (dependent on load, etc.). It sounds like there may something wrong with your specific unit or installation.
What I would like to know is how anyone can back their EGT's down below 375* before shutdown. I have idled my truck in park for 5 minutes without getting temps that low. Forget about getting it to the recommended 300*. That would take all night.

Hey Beergut, you just described the problem exactly!!! Correct temp when cruising, but when you come to a stop it sticks in the 6-800* range. And a lot of times this is a lot higher than the EGT when cruising. I guess I'll give Edge a call.

I called and talked with Edge today and explained my problem. They are going to ship me a new thermocouple. I'll let you all know if that solves the problem!!
