arp head studs without changing gasket

So were having a debate here;

Can you put in ARP head studs without changing your head gasket?

we have only done it doing the headgasket.

Why is that?? If the head bolt was just removed, wouldn't the holes be clean enough??
I'm guessing a guy would have to clean out the remainder of the hole so the stud could go all the way to bottom?

Make sure you replace them in the regular torque sequence. Also make sure that the torque wrench that you use is correct as well. That is a problem we had here once

You botton tap the holes to allow the stud to go into the block further and insure that the treads on the stud are in full face contact with the treads in the block. Also, oil will work into the bolt holes over time. Fluids do not compress well and in both the reason I stated above and this one. It is to avoid a false torque reading!!! Very important to do it right the first time so you do not wipeout a head gasket.
