I was thinking about doing this to my intake tube. I know some people say it doesn't effect intake air because the air is moving thru very quickly, but I say it does because when I open my hood after a long drive that darn intake tube is HOT ... Any ideas?

i have headder wrap wrapped around part of my intake piping [a steel 90* elbow] but the rubber elbows in my piping have no wrap.. maybe i will wrap them along with my manifold, turbine housing and dp this summer???

 

I insulated my torque tube with some sound deadening foam that is used in inboard jetboats. Its 1.25" thick with heavy duty foil facing. I mostly wanted a bit of sound reduction, which it accomplished nicely.

 

Sound reduction and heat insulation are what I'm looking for...
