Its right at the top of the threads! i thought thes nuts were designed not to back off the stud.. IThe studs are designed to bear the load.. and properly torqued down they should not have a problem holding... Just my thinking!!!! I havent had a problem yet!

Any pictures??? Very curious about this setup. where did you get your spacers? Do you tow heavy? By heavy I mean I have a 5er with somewhere around 3500 pin weight and usually have a bed FULL of firewood also! thanks...

Well I think I am gonna give 285's a try with just a 1/4" spacer and see how they fit.

I got 2 packs of 1/4" spacers from napa, they were like 25$ a set, I stuck just the 1/4 inch spacer first and i thought that the sidewalls might rub when i hooked to my trailer. I didnt want to risk it so i doubled them up and made my 1/2" spacer. I haul a 24' flat bed triple axle trailer, mostly haul hay, but will also haul whatever.

I also haul my farm equipment which is very heavy, i just dont like how the 285's sway. I have the Nittos and they are e rated but with the small rims and the huge sidewalls there is no preventing that!
