I run Royal Purple. RP everything. And I love it! But in a world of 4.30 cent diesel and 1.50 bottles of WATER, its still a big chunk of money to put down when i need to change my oil. So I go to my loca NAPA, used to work with the gang over there and they are a good group. They suggested i start using the Mystik synthetic instead, which is considerably cheaper. The grease and R&O fluids are common around here, but don't see the oil mentioned much, so i need some opinions from the guys that use this or know info on this. Please lets not get into a debate on whats better or worse, I know what most ppl like on here. I'm just trying to see if it would be worth it, and some 1st hand experiences. Thanks guys!

Mystik is a Citgo rebrand, and is a good oil. I see the Checker Auto flyer has Valvoline Synpower Synthetic oil $.99 after rebate. They also have RP Synthetic on sale for $5.97

 

Gotcha, not american owned, but isn't Citgo refineries based in America as well? I'm not much for anti-americans, but I've heard good things about Mystik. That's why i was wondering. So far the only reason NOT to buy it isnt because of the oil, but who ultimately owns the company. i don't think my little money i give them will make a difference in what would happen to that company. If its a good oil, why not?

Yeah, i guess you're right, don't want to add to any more problems in the world today, I'm just trying to stay out of the way!!!
