amsoil remote filter
can i mount the amsoil remote filter kit part number bmk-11 on the frame rail or do i have to mount the filter above the oil pan. the reason i ask is i have no room under the hood for this kit. and with the dual cp3s and twins going in i realy have no room in the engine bay for the remote kit.
you can mount it any place you want...they suggest not mounting it to the engine.....and they dont want it mounted way down the frame rail either...but it can be mounted on the frame just get it as close to the engine as possible.
so on the rail by the passanger tire should be okay? i want to keep it close to the motor like they say just wanted to make sure it would be able to pump the oil from the filter back up into the fillercap return line and not starve the motor of oil.

you should be fine......check out all these cummins/dodge installs on the amsoil site.....http://www.amsoil.com/bypassfilters/index.aspx
I saw where a guy on cumminsforum mounted one on his frame rail under the passenger seat area - the filters were horizontal with the ground - and fabbed up a brush shield for it. A neat clean job and he says it works fine that way but I might be a little leary of it myself.
