Well, last night I finally got around to getting the Magnaflow muffler and AFE Stage 2 installed. The kitty was deleted. 24'' Stainless Tip was added.

I haven't had a chance to drive it much. Just drove it home after the install at a buddy's place (Diesel Dan). Prob 60 miles.

First impressions are WOW....That TURBO CAN SING! Spools fast and I can gauge my throttle position really well now just from the sound. I don't know yet about mileage....perhaps a little better. But EGT's are running cooler by maybe 100 to 150 degrees. Max EGT at WOT was around 1200, with outside temp of about 35 degrees.

Also, the Magnaflow is awesome too. Nice throaty sound, but not obnoxious at all. Definately a Deeper tone. I didn't notice any drone with it coming home at various different speeds and some brief Wide Open Throttle runs. Course, pulling heavy may be a little different sound....but my guess is still no drone.

In fact, due to the turbo whooshing sound coming from the AFE....It was difficult to hear the Magnaflow at times. I found a few buildings and overpasses to run beside and stomped on it a little to hear the exhaust. It was there!!

Anyway, if anybody out there in DTR land is considering that combo or either of the two....I give them both a thumbs up!

 

I know what you mean. I look for every oppurtunity to drive my truck. I get tickled every time I hear the turbo and the exhaust singing and I've had both mods done for about 7 months now. The AFE 2 was one of the best mods I did.
