Yes, it will. A tip acts like a megaphone the bigger the hole to exit the more it will resonate..

Will look much better...

i have a 6 inch tip that is 24 inches long. i really can't notice any difference in tone/noise. all my noise comes from my muffler.

Not yet, I left my digital camera at my sister's b-day party this last weekend but I will get it tomorrow and get pic's posted. I was going to put on a 7" bullhauler that necked down to 5" but one that was 24" was $265 Besides I think it would be dragging on the ground...

i agree with luvnacumns, the bigger the tip the louder the sound. i have a 6 inch tip on mine straight piped and it definately sets off alarms.

To me changing the tip doesn't have a large impact on the loudness, but it does change the tone.

I just have a Silverline 4" turbo back with 5" tip and I set off alarms. I mean, it's definitely not the loudest exhaust setup out there (I could probably delete the muffler and be louder) but it sounds loud enough for me I reckon.

Bully Dog 6"... That seem to be way loud. I have not heard anything louder yet. . . I am waiting on a dual 5" staainless Silverline kit, hopefully that will quiet it down and still look impressive. I also have one of these waiting to go on...
