5 inch exhaust
cquestad,
Could you explain your comment about 5" and a 62/12. I'm running what's listed in my sig and noticed cooler egt's and quicker spool-up with my 5". Just curious, not trying to start anything.

I think you are looking for a Donaldson M090535. You can find it here:

I second that. I love my 5" with 6" tip. I only have the Cat back, and wouldnt ever think about straight pipe or even turbo back. Sounds mean, but yet cruises well w/o being loud in the cab.

Read the specs...

That is a lot of "muffling"... 12-17 DBA
I have never had that experience with smaller turbos on many trucks(i.e. ANYTHING WITH A 4" outlet) hooking up a 5" downpipe and exhaust.
No effect on EGTS, NO CHANGE or EVEN SLOWER spool, and way more noise.
Sounds cool...but gets real old real quick if you tow or anything else. I see it as a waste of money. Fluid Dynamics (yes air is a fluid...lol) shows that there is a negative result to slowing the exhaust velocity and increasing the turbulence with regards to friction...it goes up..hence more back pressure so to speak.
If you want a 5" look...do the last 12" or just the over the axle portion of the pipe.
Save the money for a more effective mod...

I guess all this discussion begs the obvious question ... does anyone out there in DTR land know what the stock muffler flows, what the decibal attenuation is, etc? like the info you'd find on the donaldson dynamics site ...
