wheres the best place (cheapest) to get a 5'' downpipe, some straight and a 90* to make my own exhaust? im going to turn it out in front of my rear wheels. i had the truck straight piped for about a year then i put the bullydog muffler on it and im tired of it again. i want it loud again.

Hello,

I'm sure this is not the "cheapest" but they will have everything you need.

Burns Stainless - http://www.burnsstainless.com/

If this is not in your budget then this might help other readers just in case someone might want to build something... I have built many custom motorcycle exhaust with this and I'm about to build a TRUE TB 5" on my 6.7....
Burns has the V-Bands, ALL the bends you might ever want and they have everything in stock and ready to ship.. VERY good people over there...

If you have any full service Big Rig garages near you check with them... they usually stock 5" - 8" pipes & parts...

I would be kinda worried about running 1000+* EGTs down the side of my truck... I know the the ferd F150s did it for about a year then had too many blow out issues, so they switch back. Thats on a gasser too, that only puts out like 500* maybe.

that was not why they stopped doing that. tip exhaust temps are nowhere near that high. hell for the piping they say you only need two fingers worth of space to keep things cool enough.

the soot problem i can kinda see, but i think i wash my truck enough to nto worry about it.

i have had no issue with tire melt or problems with hot exhaust down the side of the truck, u have to remeber ambient air temp out side, wind and air flow, so u are not putting a 1000 degrees of exhaust down the side of the truck, bye the time you figure wind speed while driving and the air temp your exhaust is no longer all that hot, i get some soot on my back rim, but it is worth it because i am the only one in my town with this setup

i thought about that too. i firgured as long as i dont get too close to the duals that it would be ok. i hope it wont be 1000* by the time it gets there anyways! thats part of my reason for doing it,but mainly just the sound.
