I've heard that the higher settings (5-9) all make about the same power give or take. What about #3? What will that one do? Asking because I need to haul my camper over the pass, & want the most power with best mileage. Also will I be able to spool up my HTT 62 on #3? TIA.

You should be fine on sw3, but its really personal preference....try it out and see. I like sw5 because it lays out the power when needed but is very controllable. I haul with it, but only in the country where traffic isn't terrible.(so i can take my time)

 

I just realized you were inquiring about level 3. I have to slow down when I am reading posts I guess. I have no information on level 3, I have never tried it. Let us know how it rolls if you try it out.

I'm with you jmccart. I have never had my truck on anything other than SW9. I got pretty good milage empty, but loaded, I'm only getting about 10-11 mpg. I used to get 14-15 loaded before Smarty 4.4, & the turbo. I just have trouble giving up the power, but diesel is about to hit $5.00/gal here real soon. It was $4.75 at the shell station across the street from the TWO REFINERIES just out of town!
