You won't gain any performance over a straight pipe stock exhaust. Just noise, looks, and coolness factor. I've driven from houston to oklahoma and everywhere in between and so far I haven't had any problems with the local pd's. I do try and keep it quiet cruising through town though. They are LOUD!!! I'm running 2 5" stacks with 4" straight pipe going into the stacks and with the windows down they are very, very loud. But with the windows up they are surprisingly quiet. They do drone around 1200rpm but you aren't in that RPM range long enough to matter. At 70mph all you hear in the back is a very faint rumble. With the volume on my radio turned on to 5 out of 30 I can't hear the stacks. I've got pics in my gallery. I bought the kit off of ebay. I love them.

I was gonna ask about the noise factor, is it a less raspy sound than the straight pipe? Like a lower tone maybe?

The 5" stacks are a much lower sound than the 4" straight pipe I used to run. I definately prefer the stacks over the normal exhaust sound.
