i have an 03 truck, not a mega cab, but quad, i will guess that the rear end to hitch is the same, maybe even more for the mega. anyway, i have the mag diff cover, and had a 315 mounted on factory steel rim, and it fit under my truck no problem, even with 4" MBRP exhaust.you will have to guide it up as you crank the tire up, as least i had to, i also have air lines back there running the rear lic plate for my air bags.

yes it does work, i have a 06 quad with a 35 mounted on the steel rim mounted under the truck no prob with a mag tec diff cover. its very close and you have to guide it up while someone else cranks it. its a two person job in my eyes but it fits

I have a BFG 315 mounted on the stock rim up in the tire bay, made sure I kept it toward the bumpers as tight as I could get it. Clearance is just fine, close, but clears. I used a bungee at first, now I use one of those cranking tie down straps, just a little better than the bungee in my opinion.
