looking for your guys thoughts, iv decided to get a new truck, decided on a 6 speed but dont know if i should look at 3rd gen pre 2004.5 or second gen post 2001.5 any prefs here? pros? cons? its a dayly driver and tow/work truck, will be moding it mostly looking for good mpgs maybe a little playing around.

 

I would take my 3rd gen over my 01 24v 2nd gen ANYDAY.....no offense to the 2nd gen guys but the 3rd gens are way better in my opinon...in every way...thats why I have a 3rd gen....cause I test drove one and realized how sweet it is.

what kind of mpgs can i expect? whats the bigest worry with these trucks?

 

I have an '04 and an '06. They are both equal as far as passenger comforts, but he '04 does get better fuel mileage in every situation. With the BD tuner, both make good power, but this particlar tuner its not as good on the '04.
Either one will make you a great truck.

 

I love my 03 compared to my dads 01. Better looking and feeling interior, newer headlights, just a better truck in my opnion.
