a little off subject but not really, a customer of mine dynod his truck last weekend. he has an 06 3500 quad cab long bed 4x4, ats twins (a3k & a5k) cam, sticks, ats stage 6 with 5 star converter, dual cp3's, fully balanced internals & fluidamper balancer, edge ez and the PPE. With the PPE he could only get 698 HP out of it. a guy at the shop had a smarty (not sure what program was loaded into the smarty) and he laid down over 760! Added over 60HP with the Smarty! he called me today and is getting one on order here soon! He cant wait for the race tune to come out and see how much closer he gets to the 800 mark. oh ya, this was FUEL ONLY. no drugs.

350 is a bit high on the HP numbers of the sticks, but im not gonna tell you that youre REAL far off either...oh and yes, i did go to Northwestern

cbrahs, was that a PPE HOT or standard program? Got a dyno chart for both pulls? im dying to know how the PPE hot and new smarty act head to head...i hope there is a low smoke/high power tune available for the new smarty programs

 

rev.dsl have you ran the new race version [low timming] PPE HOT. If so how do you like it? Thanks man. Oh and Dan says the new timing version 300/470 is a few weeks away, standard timing for people not running spray. Any thoughts????

 

i hear the low timing smokes a ton, no personal experience with it though.

 

Standard Timming sounds like egt's would get pretty toasty...wouldn't they?

 

im pretty sure the old timing program on the HOT was ~20*

 

According to Bobby, his machinist makes the injectors for him and II as well. He said they make all the Dragon Flows, Dragon Flys, etc.

Not sure how true that really is though.

 

its true, the guy does scheid's small EDM work too. their EDM machine doesnt go below .010 IIRC

 

Sounds like that guy didn't have the PPE HOT that is out now for the 06's....and it sounds like he was using a beta in the smarty. I know my Beta 4.2 dyno's roughly 5 hp more than the PPE HOT.

 

I will call him to see if he can fax me the dyno sheets and post. I will ask him if it was the PPE hot version.

 

Bobby uses JL machine to do all his work. From what I have been told by brett and cody is that they do all work in house Cody is the injector guru and they do not use JL to do their injectors.

 

he just faxed the dyno sheets to me. I will scan them tomorrow at the office and post em up. he did not have the PPE hot version. He said it was the hottest version they had 6 months ago or so. I am not spooled up on the PPE so I can't tell you exactly what version.

He did the first few runs with the PPE and then took that off and loaded the smarty. Gained over 60hp with just the smarty.

 

Look how smooth that Smarty power delivery was...smoother than a baby's butt!!!
