i run the toyo open country in a 325/60/18 and i think they look good. i had proxes 4 on my eclipse and they were the best street tire i have ever had. am looking for some for my srt8 grand cherokee. i hope they make them for it.

the more I look the more I think the proxes are the best for what I am after...every other tire I look at is "R" or "S" speed rated...the toyo proxes are rated at "V" speed rated!! and they have a pretty good weight rating as well.

Im sure you already know this but I think you will have to get some steaper gears to gain some highway mileage if your goin down on tire size. With the 35's I see a pretty consistent 2,100 @ 70 (I think thats what it is) and I could use a little more I think.

I also agree on the lost power and im also gonna go down on tire size but I cant decide what I want to do and I wont even consider the Gear Vender. Great idea though I just wish it was stronger.

I thought the GV unit was pretty tough??? isn't there a BUNCH of them in drag racing vehicles holding lots of HP????

I am worried that I will be back to 2,300rpm @70mph like I was with the stock tires....guess I can make up for it with some valve springs and the 4K smarty tune

They say dont pull heavy or sled pull and then I remember reading a few posts about a guy that broke a shaft or something. I was dead set on it until about a year ago I started finding those threads. I never called them directly but several claimed they did. I even asked around about some custom parts to make them stout and nobody had ever heard of them.

Bummer, if I wanna play in the salt flats it would almost be a neccesity.

I've had the Toyo ATs in 305/55/20s E rated and the taller 305/60/20s e rated. THe 305/55s WILL hook up fine for you w/ your HP, trust me, I was able to bust a billet output shaft they hooked up so well! IMO 305/50s are way to small for 4x4s, you see too much wheel well.

I am running the toyos in a 305/40/22, and absolutely love the tires. Granted I am thinking about switching over to a mud terrain, but couldn't be more pleased with them. I've had places like Tire Barn and Discount Tire tell me that I would wear the tires out like crazy due to the weight of the truck. They have about 10 miles on them and look like no wear hardly at all. I also pull a 6x12 and 7x20 enclosed trailers with it and the smaller profile tire has no real issues. Very quite on the road and great in the rain as well. FYI - I have a 22x10 wheel and they have no issues with rubbing or anything, puts my rpms at 70 mph right at about 2,000. Great tires though people compliment my mega all the time. 22's look decent proportion wise on this big man van.

I'm thinking along the same lines with my truck...

Once the tires are shot I'm dropping back down to lower than stock. Stock height front springs (but custom stiffer rate), rear spacers removed, and some Radflo pin-top reservoir shocks from Defiant Truck Products.

No idea on what rims/tires, though. Definitely 20's...
