After breaking my front band I decided to upgrade tranny to hts heavy duty band and there race clutch kit.After rebuild I now have a really light shift from 1st to 2nd and under light to medium throttle it goes directly into 3rd.I also changed the shift lever from stock 5.0 to 4.3.Do you guys think the lever change could be my problem?Before the change I had no problem smoking the tires on 1-2 shift now I can't spin on a wet road.Even with the tq converter lockup switch on you can hardly feel 1-2 shift.After shifting into2nd there's no slipping.

My valve body and converter is a dunrite.Before the band break no shifting issues at all.

 

Upgrade to HTS valve body. Problem solved.

 

I've thought about it but my valve body is already done so i'd need a core.Hate to spend 600 if I can fix what I got.

 

Sell yours & get a 6-speed.....

Call tony at dunrite he is knowledgable and im sure he can help you get this problem lined out. Is this a valve body built by dunrite or is this a transbuddy kit if so you may not have set it right just checking all the possibilities.

 

if you have hts parts then call dusty and he will help you out. he knows the trannies in and out. I have a new & improved valve body waiting to be installed in my truck.
