That Is Cool Looking. Do You Get Much Hot Air From The System Since It Is Open To The Engine Compartment.

A little but nothing major. It has been this way for about 2 years & I have never had any issues with heat.

One of the diesel mags did just what you are asking, dyno tested different intakes on a stock truck, none of them made any more HP than the stock intake did. That may change with power adders, but stock engine the intakes are a complete waste of money-from a HP gain standpoint anyway.

Of course, anytime you can enhance airflow through the intake or exhaust tracts - air filter to exhaust tip - the area under the HP & torque curves will increase.

Max HP on the dyno doesn't always translate to best streetable power.

Heres my MAC intake with amsoil 6080 filter.Looks good and comes in a little cheaper than the AEM.(about $260 for everything)That AEM does look good though!

At lower rpm it seems like my turbo spools easier. Maybe its easier to get air and faster than the stock air intake. At higher rpm with a stock engine maybe there is no diff.
