OK I'm ignat but how do you tell the diff. My truck has a manuf date of 05-04

look under the truck, does it have a catalytic converter under the cab, before the muffler? if so, 04.5
look on the drivers side of the valve cover. check the white sticker, if it says 305hp=04 if it says 325hp=04.5

 

That is a 2004.5.

As of January 1, 2004 all Cummins dropped in Dodges ran the 600 series, which is what makes it an 04.5. Also they changed the display on the radio to smaller dots for each digit for the 04.5 I think.
