Warranty Question
Warranty Question
OK, here's the story:
I maintain that the warranty on the DPF is 5yrs/50,000 miles unless registered in CA (I believe that's what the book says).
I went to a dealership today and got two different opinions:
Service tech says warranty is 5 yrs/100,000 miles
Service writer says warranty is 3 yrs/36,000 miles (she was positively certain!)
Methinks nobody knows what they're talking about. Any idea who's right??

You know, I wonder if some dealers "overlook" the warranty and provide repairs anyway even when the mileage is over the limit. Case in point: when I was at the dealership I was chatting with another customer who had a truck similar to mine. He told me that he had his DPF replaced at about 62k miles and they charged him something like $200. He told me the reason for the charge but I can't remember exactly what he said. This is what got me interested in the first place and why I questioned other employees at this dealership trying to get a straight answer. That being said, I appreciate your responses to this thread. BTW, my emissions warranty expired 200 miles ago (at 50,000 miles, like the book says
)....
