vibration

I have a vibration that is most noticed when driving between 70-76 mph, also when accelerating, it seems to happen most when cruise control is putting power on, is this a u-joint going out truck has 44000 miles about 20000 towing. I u-joint mwhat is the best replacment. Thanks

can somebody tell me if I am on the right track or not? What could be other causes for this vibration?

In my experience a ujoint will vib at slower speeds and go away at higher from the centrifugal force of the rotation. Not a bad place to start though. Get under the truck and see if there is any slop in the joints by hand.

I had a high speed vibration as well. Ended up being the drive shaft needed to be balanced.

I've also replaced u-joints too that were causing low speed vibration.

under acceleration the rear end pinion rises. i got some vibration on my 01 under acceleration at lower speeds and it turned out to be the rear u-joint. spring wrap with lots of torque...

Check out the post I put up yesterday in this forum in this same forum about a truck we went to look at I think the title of the post was Lookin at a new (to me) truck... If your's is an auto look at what I described and what the dealer mechanic diagnosed it as
