Towing with EB on and in Tow haul mode....

First off let me say WOW!!!! Coming to a stop is just plain awesome! It's as if the trans knows what you want it to do so you don't have to keep on the brakes. It's been said before but Dodge is finally getting it right!! BUTTTT, when it shifts down into 2nd gear (I think) it is pretty harsh and I don't like it at all. Lots of guys have mentioned this and I'm wondering how many have just said to heck with it and just keep towing with it like this. Basically I'm wondering if anybody has lots of miles with this issue and nothing ever broke...

There is a flash for harsh/severe downshifting. I don't like the way mine does that either, especially with the EB brake on, but I didn't get the flash for fear of it changing something else too.

I saw that flash but it pertains to transmissions that did this without using the EB. At least I don't recall seeing anything about it when I read it.

This is one hell of a truck, I hated the way the 48re acted. I justed pulled my rv fo the first time with this truck and manhandled it. I felt like I was in a mini semi.

31000 miles and I tow 10000 to 14000 pounds and no issues.

Its harsh but I like it...

Well, I agree and I actually am getting to where I can tap the brakes at just the right time, right before it downshifts, and then the downshift is not so harsh..

Mine is pretty ruff while empty, but as soon as my car is in tow it calms right down and the shifts are pretty spot on. It is pretty impressive how the truck "feels" what i need. The EB becomes more aggresive while towing! When i first hooked on i was like man this EB is barely working, then it reacted and started gettin after it. You guys with gauges have noticed the boost it builds while on the EB, mine will hit about 7-8 while unloaded, i hit 17-18 a few times while slowing down! It was crazy!

The only complaint i have with the trans is that loose A** converter! So much energy is wasted until that converter locks!
