My brother-in-law sells them to all the oil field trucks and they seem to like them fine. The only drawbacks are of course more noise than an all season, and an average mileage of about 16000 before they are deemed worthless in the mud.
Thats just about right , good grip when new and to about 15000 k , after that, so so , also they are noisy on highway
i had the maxxis buckshots on a previous truck and would not buy again. They were fantastic in the mud and on pavement in the rain but terrible in beach sand (which most tires are unless they are sand tires). They also seemed to wear really well. They had ~20000 miles on them when i sold the truck and they still looked fairly new; lots of tread left. My complaints lied in how noisy they were (moreso than most mud terrain tires i have ever owned or ridden in vehicles equipped with) and they were absolutely impossible to balance. they might have been separating inside the tire but it was never determined. those tires were removed and reinstalled and rebalanced probably 50 times in 2 years and they never balanced out right. i ALWAYS had a vibration at some speed with those tires. this was also on 2 different sets of wheels, a brand new front suspension on the truck, and no vibration when other tires were tested on the truck. they just wouldn't balance right. They also had really weak looking sidewalls so i was doubtful how well they would perform in a rocky environment or on a smaller trail.
