Surging- cant figure it out.

First time post here, I've been a lurker for a while now and any questions I've had I would search for about 2mins, and I find the answer, untill now.

When I take off slowly only, After the truck shifts into second it surges for a couple seconds. And If I am not accelerating it will keep bucking and surging. First thing I thought was fuel delivery. But the truck is close to stock. The only mods are afe intake and a Geno's delete pipe. I didnt think the mods would cause the surging. I have'nt worried to much about it cause when you accelerate under normal conditions it does'nt surge or buck at all.

Are you sure it's not "Shuttle shifting" which is where the trans can't make up it's mind if it wants to be in 2nd or 3rd gear so it keeps going back and forth between the two? It is a very common problem with the 48re trans....

My truck does this from time to time, mostly when there is hardly and pressure on the acclerator, Is this something I should be concerned with.
