Stock Exhaust Brake
Stock Exhaust Brake
When I have the exhaust brake engaged and come to a stop, it sounds as if the exhaust brake is still open allowing exhaust gasses to escape. This is the first time I noticed this.
Is this normal or should the exhaust brake shut when the truck is at a stop idling.

Truck was at normal operating temp. As I dis-engage the exhaust brake the sounds goes away and returns when engaged? As I accelerate the sound goes away until I remove my foot from the accelerator.
If the motor is up to full operating temp, it should not be on at idle. It only is on at idle when the motor is still cold. I'm not sure at what temp is shuts off at idle, but it is close to normal operating temp.
