Question Silencer ring and warranty

Ok, so my cousin picked up an 07 5.9 megacab 4x4 and just got his gauges and diablo programmer in. I told him to pull the silencer ring for the extra whistle but he is scared that it'll mess with his warranty (I scratched my head on that one since he already has a programmer).

So will pulling the silencer ring interfere with the warranty. I can't see it since all it does is muffle that nice whistle.

nah, the silencer ring wouldn't have hurt the warranty, but like you said, after a programmer he may not have a warranty to mess up!! LOL good luck!

I doubt anybody will give you a concrete answer except YOUR dealership. It takes 5 minutes to take out, if you are that worried about it, when you need to take your truck in for warranty work, take the 5 mins and stick the thing back in. I honestly don't think that it will mess with your warranty.

Unless you slip with the snap ring pliers and mangle one of the turbo compressor blades. They may have a few things to say about that.

Damage should have be the result of the action taken by you to void a portion of the warranty. So the silencer ring should not affect the warranty on the truck with the exception of the turbo. Put it back in after you have run 50 k and failed a turbo and then when they look in there they can see it was not there the whole time and it will void the turbo warranty. Irrespective if it had anything to do with it or not.
