Problems with 2007.5 6.7

The company i work for, has a 07.5 dodge. we replaced the egr actuator back in january. i just took it back in last week because it was throwing codes and defueling again. the dealer said the fuel pressure relief valve was bad and needed replacement. the dpf was also "80%" full. they said that since that relieft valve wasnt working properly the truck has not been able to regen in a long while and thats why the dpf was full. has anyone had problems with the relief valve? im new to the newer 6.7's. the truck is out of warranty now and has just 102,000 miles and some change on it. i use the truck for pulling our equipment, so the truck has as little as 14,000lbs (kubota 121-3 mini-ex) behind it every day to the occasional 20,000 when i pull the backhoe. i had thought that if these trucks were worked hard that the dpf wouldnt get clogged up as much since the engine's working harder? im just looking for some advice. thanks

If you're towing all the time, the dpf should be ok, unless you are mostly intown, then things will plug up regardless. Idling is especially hard on the emissions system. If you can swing it, do the minimal deletes and the truck will be 10 times better.

The relief valves usually only have issues on trucks that are running increased rail pressures. Havent heard of any issues on a stock truck with them. Thats not to say its not possible though.

I agree with klx. If you are not DOT reg, delete that sucker and drive happy, and save the company a couple of dimes with the increased fuel milage. Just mind the right foot, the tranny will thank you.

To get off topic, I sure am happy I traded in my 2007.5 6.7 4x4 in for a 2006 5.9 2x4! No more EGR or clogged filters or going into limp mode to worry about!
