I tried unplugging my EGR, check engine light was not previously on, but it came on. I scanned it and got the 2 codes. What are these for as I haven't seen or heard about them before?

By the way, I drove 100 miles and saw no increase in MPG and then towed 10K over 300 miles and the MPG is still at about 9. I'm lucky to get 300 miles out of a tank. Basically, the truck drives the same and still gets horrible MPG. I do have these codes and wonder what they are. I have the G30 recall done with the AV flash...

Get rid of the DPF, www,dpf-r,com or about 5 others sell kits or look at one of the other threads here that mentions the cummins forum telling how to delete it your self for about 100$ supposedly gives step by step directions I haven't checked it out yet.

 

A. The 2 codes you listed are the same thing
B. How did you scan it?
C. Im not even sure these are real codes. Are you sure they aren't p0400? Unplugging the EGR will more than likely give out p04xx codes.

 

I scanned it with a tool bought from Harbor Freight. The scanner has worked well on other vehicles. I'm sure it read P0004.

I took it to the deal though and they didn't find this code, just the one from unplugging the EGR (even though there was not CEL) when I brought it in since I cleared the CEL and plugged the EGR back in.

I complained about all the usual drivability issues and they flashed it to AZ. Haven't been able to drive it much, but can't tell any seat of the pant difference...
