Ordering A 6.7

I am getting ready to order a new 6.7. Does anyone know what all has changed with the packages i am ordering a 08 3500 SRW Quad Cab 4x4 TRX. The dealer i talked to said that they changed the TRX package this year and that there is a bunch of options that arnt available for the 08 model year. I know i want the sliding back glass, fog lights, clearance lights, power seats ect. I was interested in a Sunroof but i guess its not available for the 08 Model Year in the TRX. Does anyone have a good idea what all is available. My dad has a 08 Mega Cab with the 6.7 and 6 Speed automatic and he loves it and so do i. Its amazing dodge did everything right with that transmission. I live in southern california where there is alot of hills and i need some advice to which transmission to get. I have a 07 5.9 6 speed right now and i mean the hills are tolerable with the 6 speed but im not really into hot rodding around anymore so should i lean twards the auto or should i stick with the 6 speed with the 6.7. I drove a 6.7 with the 6 speed manual and i was amamzed at how much more torqy it was stock then my 5.9 6 speed but i just dont know what i should do now. Stick with the manual or try the automatic. Any advice would be helpful thanks

yeah i love my 5.9 but i just want to upgrade. I was heart broken when i learned that my pickup was one of the last 5.9's built from the factory and that it wasnt available anymore. My dads Mega has the engine brake the button is under the AC controls. I love it. It really does help alot. I bet it would sound sick with an exhaust. Im kinda curious how long it will take someone to figure out a way to get ride of the DPF and all the other crap so we can put a normal exhaust on it. But yeah im leaning to the auto just because of all the hills around laguna. Shifting gets old after awhile in stop and go traffic.

You have a 07 5.9L? Why on earth would you want to get rid of that tried and true engine, Yah I own a 6.7 now but in my opinion if I knew then what I know now I'd have a 5.9l In my yard now.
Mine hasn't gave me much grief but I don't care for the emmisions garbage.
I work in the oil patch as a mechanic and we had a saftey meeting today, and there was a saftey alert issued about the exstream heat given off the exhausts of new diesels, the funny part was the pics in the alert were of a ford throwing flames out the exhaust ( a Ford), Yah I know the problem was fixed with a recall, Of course the discussion was about the issue and not why it was occuring, and I didn't feel like giving a presentation on how a regen works. lol
Just my 2 Cents

Yeah. Im not real excited about the emmissions on it either but I am after that 1 ton single rear wheel trx lol. As soon as someone finds away to fool the computer and make it where we can change the exhaust I will be on it. Which im sure someone will eventually. I am amazed at how well the new 6 speed tranny works. It pulls incredible and the gearing can only make me wonder what the top end would be on that thing if it had the power. Im in a bit of a dispute right now with two dealers there is my dealer in Kansas that I have purchased my last two 07's through and there is another dealer in Nebraska that i am kind of talking to about the truck deal. The kansas dealer keeps trying to tell me the 1 ton is not available in a crew cab single rear wheel shortbed. They said its only the longbed now. They also told me the TRX isnt available. Which the Nebraska dealer tells me it is and would swear on it. So im gonna end up ordering a 08 Dodge 3500 SRW Crew Cab Shortbed TRX. I just need to decide on the color. I have chosen the auto but im caught between the silver and the charcoal color. They both look amazing.

You can certainly order a SRW quad short 3500.

I'm not all that familiar with the TRX.

tough choice between the auto/3.73 and manual/3.42

Yeah i just confirmed it today. I have my Truck all specked out. The TRX package is only available with the SXT package now. All of the trucks are being called Bighorns since the name was so popular so in order to get the TRX you have to get the SXT which is the lower end of the SLT. They still offer the SLT but the SXT is just a cheaper version with less options. But then you have to op for the TRX Off Road Group to get all of the TRX benifits like the Sirius, Fog Lights, Decals, Skidplates ect. My total came out to about $38000 invoice. I specked out a SLT and it came out to be $51,000 do to the options like the Sun Roof, Navigations ect. ect. But yeah i have decided on the auto with the 3:73's it was a pretty hard choice when he told me that you could get the 6 speed with the 3:42's. If only they would have offered that high of a gear with the 5.9 6 speed. It would prollie be to low though my truck has the tendency to lug anything under 1600 in 6th

Yeah, I love how sales people just barrage you with soo much information it becomes confusing and you end up with a $55k truck instead of the 35k you thought you were spending

lugging? That's what 5th gear is for.
