This oil leak is driving me nuts. Recently got the truck. Front main crack seal was leaking and replaced yesterday, took me 7 hours, no leaks from seal or cover now. Still have small leak, thought it was from oil pan so I sealed with RTV, (sorry I know it looks messy). Took a 15 min drive and still leaks. look like its from somewhere above the oil pan, passenger side by ac comp. would the water pump leak oil?
That looks like the front cover to block gasket is leaking. Mine does the same thing but other side of the block just below the IP. Fun to fix right, camshaft must be removed.
Is this a common problem with the 6.7? I guess its not getting fixed.... That's above me. I bought it two months ago, really clean truck for the most part. Just replaced CCV filter since I found all the leaks. I did get preform service light which promoted me to change the ccv, light has not come back after 500 miles. Thanks so much for the help.
I also noticed in the glove box there is a CPS5 switch I think its called. From EFI live. It connects to the OBD2 port. I leave it in position 1. Id like the truck to be in stock tune, but I have no idea what tune the last guy put on it. EGR cooler, valve, is all still on, but the butterfly plate is disconnected at the molex plug. Pipe is straight back from turbo. Has S and B intake. My question, does this set up seem OK, should I change anything. Id like the truck stock and reliable. What position is best on the EFI live switch. The truck smokes decent when the turbo is not boosting down low, normal?
Thanks again I'm new to Diesels.
I'm sure you can get one of the 6.7 folks to chime in on that, 6.7 stuff is alien to me. The front cover gasket isnt really to bad, more time consuming than anything, or so i'm told. It will drive you a bit nuts with using a hottsy once a week unless you like the rust prevention.
