need assistance to change serpentine belt

I got my new belt in hand and crawled around over and under the truck and am slightly confused. How does the belt go under the very bottom pulley (for lack of a better description) yet the electrical connection for the fan will not allow you to go around the fan? Is there a trick to this? :(

Pics and a detailed description would be awesome.

here is the procedure accordin to the book

CAUTION: When installing the accessory drive belt, the belt must be routed correctly. If not, engine may overheat due to water pump rotating in wrong direction.

Position drive belt over all pulleys except water pump pulley.
Attach a suitable tool to the accessory drive belt tensioner.
Rotate accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise. Place belt over water pump pulley. Let tensioner rotate back into place. Remove tool. Be sure belt is properly seated on all pulleys.

The trick is never try and put it around the fan. It does not go over the fan. The backside of the belt drives the fan pulley.

I found it easier to take the tensioner off to get the belt in behind it as required. Not essential, but saved a few rude words.

cbrahs, thanks for the info x2. Replacing w/p, tensioner, pulleys and tstat and belt. Still fighting with the tensioner though. [duhhh][duhhh]

Doing this job on my 08 right now. Pulling the old belt was a bit of a pain. Pulled the air filter box out to get more room to work. Thanks for posting the diagram above. Going to help out a lot.
