Is my mpg that bad???
talked to the service man. today and he called chrysler and they told him that the 6.7 trucks are supposed to get 11-14 city and 13-16 highway... I was very disappointed.. I think I am gonna call chrysler myself just to make sure. I have to take it in on friday (tomorrow conflicted with something that came up) to get my all my speakers replaced.. He said that he will have his tech run some tests on it and make sure it is up to par. If they end up NOT fixing my problem I guess I will get rid of the warranty and fix it myself.. It is just a shame that in order to minimize polution we have to maximize fuel consumption..... Maybe I should just sell it and buy a different brand all together..... **** on dodge.
I hate to say it but I think the days of getting high fuel mileage are gone. All the diesels (Ford, Chevy, and Dodge) are having a tough time getting any mileage out them with all the EPA crap.

I also agree all the brands are pretty much in the same boat.
Oh come on 19 in town. Do you actually calculate it.

I've only got 500 miles on my 2007, but so far the overhead averages at 15 mpg, and I've seen as high as 19 displayed. Mix of in town and highway short trips empty.
Running a full tank through it now so I can hand calculate it.

The City 11-14 is kind of close, the 13-16 hwy is low. I have an 08 3500 MC 4x4 with less than 500 miles and I get anywhere from 14-16 in town and around 18 on the hwy. You said maybe trade it in and get something else? I traded in an 08 Ford F250 4x4 which was getting 11.5-12.5 in town and 14-15 on the highway w/ 22,300 miles.
I posted this response on another thread and think it applies here also. Something I never see addressed here is the fact that these engines seldom run at high enough engine temp. this causes mpg problems, mainly from low combustion temps. I wish someone would come up with 2 things: 1) An aftercooler bypass. 2) Automatic radiator shutters. I recomend covering the radiator not the front grill. I work mine a fair amount and can keep radiator fully covered til 40F. Even in the summer time my engine rarely gets to 200F. Keep these at a temp beween 200 - 220F you will see better fuel economy. If Auto Tans equiped be sure to keep cooler unblocked.
Regen kills your mpg, every time you go into regen your mpg drops like 5mpg. as long as it does it you will always have horrible mpg. I know one fellow that has mega dually 4x4 with 22" rims. He gets around 21 to 24 mpg on the high way but its because of the mods that he has done, ones that we can not talk about. those are hand cal numbers, not the overhead.
My fuel mileage is not great either.
Around town I'm getting about 11-12 mpg empty.
Interstate I'm doing well to get 16mpg empty. Most the time it's 15-16 mpg.
Overall I have been pretty disappointed in the fuel mileage category. I guess I could drive 50mph on the highway and improve that number. I'd say my average interstate speed is 72-75mph.
This is on a 07' 5.9 with 15,000 miles.
Does this sound right? I just figured I was unlucky and just got a truck that did not get good mileage.
I've got no mods.

I have 10K on 07 6.7 4.10gears 6auto trans. Im getting 9-11 empty city hand calculation. Overhead jumps from 8 to 19 mpg. When truck was new with 3mi i was getting 11-15 city empty. All ECU updates / oil and filter change at 7.500mi.
Its the Regens for cleaning the DPF that hurts the MPG
