On a receint camping trip, my CEL came on. I was able to stop at an Autozone and have the code read. It was P0420. Cat efficency below threshold. The truck still ran fine. I got it into the dealer this past Tuesday. Turns out they had to replace the cat. They also cleaned the O2 sensors. The dealer was able to get this done in one day. They must have had some cats in the warehouse. I just curious what happened to the cat. It was raining pretty hard so I dunno if being splashed with cold water could of caused the inside to crack apart. Who knows. I just hope there are no more CELs.

 

Glad they got you back on the road quickly. I haven't heard anyone else mention this code/problem. I think if it was a common problem, the part would be on national back order.
