My wife and have a two year old. I bought the QC for the hauling capacity and gave realized the only time I actually need the long bed is pulling my Travel trailer. But I need the cab room everyday. unless your pulling a Wide nosed trailer the Mega Cab is the waty to go

When the Manvan's came out I hated them. Then I started to like them. Went and test drove one.. SOLD!!! I've had both and would never own a QC again.. Don't get me wrong they are good trucks but the added room is sooooo nice.

I traded in a pristine 04 quadcab for an 06 mega, lost money in the deal, and I'm still hapy i did it! For ex: had to take home a large 6 drawer chest-of-drawers in the rain, didnt get wet though, cause it was IN THE TRUCK! I'm 6' and didnt even have to move my seat. I love it!

I love my 4x4 QC sb , drove a new 2007 QC sb, 6.7 4x4 for a test drive and loved it too. My wife is testdriving an '06 2wd Mega leftover and loves how big the cab is and how it handles, when I drove it I liked my '04 better. We might have 2 Cummins in the family soon. Both are great if they serve your purpose.

Mega Cabs look great but I have seen a few out there that have the rear cab corner crushed in. The crushed corners came from jack knifeing the trailer to get in or out of a tight spot due to the short bed!!!! Not cool, I guess you gota remember that little tid bit when you hook-it-up. Never had that problem with my quad cab.

I could see having a megacab if I never towed, never hauled, had 3 kids, or was a woman, but IMO a truck isn't a truck without an 8' bed. no use for one here. I bet it's nice having a cab that can double as an efficiency apartment, but I never liked the proportions.

I just made the switch from a 06 quad to a 08 Mega and love it.as far as the box goes unless you need the extra 20" to haul stuff in the box whats the difference, and I dont care what anybody says if you are more than 5 foot tall the back seat is too small and no matter how tall you are the seat is just about at a 90 degree angle. If you pull a 5th wheel then get a slider hitch , also they make trailers designed for short box trucks. But I do understand that some people need there trucks for work or farm or ranch which i can see where the 8' box would be needed.

my 04 Hemi was a QC.

After seeing the megacab and sitting in it...I was sold. After all I have a 6 and 7 year old. They love the room and can tilt their seats back and an adult can sit very comfortably. My uncle who is 6ft 6 and weighs a good 300lbs sat in the back couldnt believ how roomy and comfortable it was.

Its all about what you need.... I dont haul anything except out 4 wheelers and motos so I dont need a long bed. I haul kids and groceries. So the megacab was the way to go. Same with the rear seat dvd aka babysitter.

I've only had my 08 Megacab a few days but the family loves the room. I tow a jeep on a 18' trailer so the 6.5' bed is no problem for me.

Hands down, Mega Cab. It's so nice inside, you just can't beat it!(I had a QC before) If you need to haul more than a shortbed allows, that's what trailers are for!

I want to get one really bad. I will only have a flat bed, no bed rails for me to crush.

With all the praise for the mega in this thread, why is Dodge getting rid of the mega cab in the next couple of years? I like both, but prefer the longbox for cargo. I think the QC has plenty of room for adults in the back, but then again we are short people.
Now if they made a LB mega, that would be ok too.

I've always said that a truck without an 8' bed is just a big car!! Well, after driving a Ford Excursion for several weeks I wanted one but, of course, Dodge doesn't make one. The Megacab was the closest thing to it. I may put a cap on it and make it a true SUV. I got a fully loaded one so it is truly a ManVan.......................... I'm very glad I made the change...
