lets get real

i've been reading some of the threads hear and other places 2. There seems to be a lot of people wanting more power, more speed, more torque. How much is enough? I think we need to remember the real reason the truck industry started putting diesels in pick-ups. It was so we needed to pull something pretty heavy or needed to haul something big we could without having a problem. The trucks available these days have more than enough power to pull or haul just about anything that a small business owner would need to. (within reason) I use mine to haul my combination tracter from job to job, and it does just fine....stock. Ifeel that if you want to race get a corvette. If you want to race... with 25,000 lbs of tractor......buy a Dodge diesel truck. hahaha Just got a new Dodge with 6.7 to replace my, still running with no problems 2002 5.9, and I love it.

If you want us to remember why the diesel is in the trucks then you need to remember something. Remember why gas motors were put in cars?? It was to get you from one place to the other. Look how the hot rod motor evolved. It was guys that wanted to get from point A to point B faster or with more power or race other people that feel the same way. It is the same with a diesel.

I want power
I want fuel mileage
I want leg room
I want safety
I want the ability to haul big trailers

My CTD likes to play as much as it likes to work and I only have to worry about one vehicle. Just my opinion and reasoning.

Most of us want to race the Corvette and win. Some are even doing just that.
