Just bought a 6.7L.

I have been reading about some of the problems with these trucks and was wondering did I do the right thing buy getting it. Truck was assembled in 6/07and I don't know anything about the G30 Recall or any of the other issues. I bought it 12/4/07. I don't know if the truck has been updated by the dealer or what. How long is the G30 Recall been out? I am beginning to worry with everything I read on here.

I have an 07 built in late June and like a lot of other folks there were several check engine lights during the first month I had it. All seems well after the G30 recall. They should have reflashed your truck before they delivered it to you. There might be a sticker near the radiator with the date the truck was serviced for the recall but not every tech actually puts the sticker on like they're supposed to. AFAIK there is no way for the owner to determine which flash is loaded into the ECM - it takes the Chrysler diagnostic tool to see the flash version.

I have 19,000 miles on mine and it is a blast to own. Too many people have given the 6.7 a bad image. I think it is wonderful.

Recall sticker

I just bought mine with an assembled date in Sept; The tech who prepped your truck should of put a sticker on top of the fender under the hood (it could be any where under the hood) with the latest flash and recalls done; without running out to my truck and looking I also believe it had the dealerships authorization number on the sticker....in short, the dealership who received your truck was suppose to do all the recalls and flashes before they sold the truck.
I felt what you are feeling when I started to read the 6.7 forum, however, after some insight by some members I feel like this truck will be worth a few flash updates.
I’m being optimistic ( I’m married to my 6.7 and I can’t afford to get out of the marriage); there are some guys who hate this truck but I’m not one of them. It drives like a 1500 but has the durability of a 4500
Hope this helps,

I ordered mine last December, and received it in March. I use it mostly to tow my 5th wheel, but I drive it to work once a week (70 mile round trip in LA traffic) and on the weekends. I have almost 8,000 miles, I did my re-flash update, but I have not had a single problem. My 5th wheel is over 12k lbs, and I have no problem hauling it over some of the steepest hills in California. After many Chevy's in my life time, and this being my first Dodge, I must say that the Dodge is a more heavy duty truck and I love it.

I bought mine on 11/26/07 with an assembly date of may 07 with the recall flash already done. With a little of 7200 mile on her now I have had not one problem. Runs great and rides great. I haven't done any heavy towing yet but none the less Very Happy I Bought Her!!

I agree, wish I could do a little more for better mpg. I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Love mine, no problems.

I remember when I bought my 2003 ctd ,all the 2 gen guys said I would be sorry, well the reflash turned into a blessing and the reason I bought a 2008 ctd is because of the 2003. Great truck and I think the 08, well be too,so enjoy your new truck
