Jeeessshhh!!

I'm going to start sounding like a Dodge truck salesman soon, singing the praises of my new beast.
2nd trip out, I have been travelling the same roads since January, two to three times a week so I can make some pretty good comparisons between the 04.5 & the 07. What has me so excited is the POWER of the 6.7L. This truck, the 2nd time out, can top the same hills on I80 in OD & cruise that my 04.5 took 100k miles to get the gumption to do so. One hill it dropped out of OD and within 1/8 mile it shifted back into OD about 3/4 of the way up!! The 04.5 never did that.
The engine is so quiet while running in OD @ 75 m.p.h. I have to turn the radio down to hear it!! Similarly, the cab is quiet with minimal wind noise.
Now if I can only start getting some decent fuel mileage.

not to burst your bubble, but that is not an accurate comparison between the engines. Your 04.5 had a 4 speed auto, the 07 has a 6 speed auto. That is why in the past years when the magazines did comparisons between the big 3, the dodge always came in last because the other 2 had better trannies and more gears.
But glad you like your truck none-the-less

Holding overdrive in the 6 speed isn't much different than holding overdrive in the 4 speed. Its the number of gears before that overdrive that is different. Actually, the 6 speed would be at lower rpms in it's top gear...so holding overdrive would theoretically require more torque. Or am I missing something?
