Why is the dealer telling you that you need a new turbo? Can’t the dealer drill and clean the turbo as they have done for most of us. This may be out of date but have them check for TSB 11-001-008 and TSB 11-002-008 for turbo cleaning. This was done to my truck in Dec-08 under warranty. So if you are out of warranty you will need to pay but should be cheaper than buying a new Turbo.

turbo prob.

The dealer tells me the code means lost communications with turbo control module. not quite sure what that means this is the first major thing to go wrong with the truck been driving it for three years mostly on weekends for camping with toy hauler. all my driving is with eb. on keep rpms up in city driving just did a trip to Reno through mountains 65-70mph on overhead says 19.5 mpg. do not understand need for turbo all of a sudden.I am going to see dealer today will ask about drilling and cleaning. will post his reply. Went to dealer said turbo not the problem but control module fried not replaceable as a separate unit offered me a 10% discount to have it done at dealership.
