I wonder if I swapped a 6.7 filter in my 5.9, if it would give me any increase in mpg?

My mileage appears to be up slightly after two tankfulls. Any increase is worth the $12.00 I spent on this filter from Genos. I put a tonneau cover on yesterday too which will also help hopefully......

Yesterday, I ran from Amarillo, TX east for 430 miles, non-stop. I set the
cruise on 70 MPH and "steered" the truck. 237 miles before I had to click it
off. A very boring drive. It was my first time to drive the truck any distance
empty. The overhead read 20 MPG. How accurate that was "I Don't know."
The other overhead reading are very accurate. At exactly 3 hours on the
timer my miles read 210.2 Until I reached stop and go traffic in Oklahoma City
the reading was about 22.1 MPG. If the truck went into "regen" I didn't
notice.
My 03 would do a little better under the same conditions, but I do like this
truck.

Myth Busted!

What was the speed of the tailwind? I'll bet it was at least 20 mph, thus your mpg was NOT typical since I quarantee it would be less going Westbound.

You're right. In Jan. I pulled to west in a very hard wind. Ok. City
to Amarillo my average was 6.7 mpg I was just happy to see something other
than 13.5 mpg. I had to call my brother who sells Chevys. He still has not
forgiven me for buying a second Dodge/Cummins.
